This is a Debra Kayn book so it's excellent, what else can I say? Debra Kayn writes about strong, dominant, VERY protective males and the independent yet always supportive women that love them!
Raine is the boss of several businesses around town and most importantly of the Bantorous MC. Tori, unknowingly, has driven right in under his radar. He's out of town for a few days and comes back to find that she has set up her coffee shack business and home right on his property and he doesn't think she belongs there. She just wants to stay for a few months and has no plans to stay permanently. He thinks she should leave now before she draws the attention of a rival MC.
I love the men of Bantorous MC and recommend this series. It's one of the better MC books that are out. I also recommend following the authors website/blog. She posts pictures of abandoned buildings, mines, etc. that have inspired her writing of this series.

Tory drove me crazy over half of the book with her naïveté and the mental twist and turns which kept her running at the drop of a hat. I was 30% in before the author gives a clue to her history and why she acts the way she does, it frustrated me, I guess. On the positive side, I loved Tori's snarkiness and her business model of free love advice with each cup of coffee sold. The visual of bikers surrounding her cabin buying cookies and soliciting advice was hilarious! Rain is a wonderful alpha male but I got tired of the "your my woman and my purpose in life is to take care of you" mantra. I never saw the ending coming. The bad guy was not on my radar. I suspected Rain's sister-in-law, so he would die without heirs, except her husband, and she could profit from Rain's wealth. Sounded plausible to me... Overall, I felt like I walked into an ongoing situation with very little background on the problems between Bantorus & Lagsturns MC. I really like the way the club members and others welcomed Tori and made her family. If you read this book, you will love the "dirt bike in the cow field" scene! Finally, I was able to finish which is not something I can always do with some MC books. It's the first book of the series and there have been several more since this one so I'm going to read on and hope they get ever better.
Tori Baldwin spends her time travelling, running a mobile coffee shack and handing out love advice with every cup. But when Tori sets up in the car park of Cactus Cover, a local biker bar, she soon finds herself in the middle of a turf war.

Rain Brookshire is the leader of the Bantorus motorcycle club, owner of Cactus Cove and the only person who can keep Tori safe.

After reading the blurb for this novel I was excited to read, yet slightly hesitant. As I have stated in a previous review, MC novels are hit or miss, and sadly Breathing His Air missed the mark.

Firstly I found the fact that Tori hands out love advice extremely odd and didn’t seem to make sense.

I also found that there was little character development and Kayn told rather than showed both Tori and Rain’s personalities, shoving traits in our face which caused me to quickly dislike both the story and characters who came of as 2D. Added to this is the fact that neither of Tori and Rain fit the descriptions provided.

Both characters were also contrary, seemingly changing their minds constantly which resulted in and their actions rarely making any sense. Tori also came off as a brat and it wasn’t long before I was giving up on the novel.

There were also issues with sentence structure which made the plot exasperatingly challenging to follow.

I found this novel was like drinking cordial that’s been too diluted; the thought of having a drink is great yet when you take a sip you realise it’s all watery and just no good.

Breathing His Air is the first book in Debra Kayn’s Bantorus MC series. I would recommend this book to people who like/can handle in your face, inconsistent characters.

I was very disappointed in this novel.
I didn't love this one. I love MC books, but this one didn't really feel like an MC book.

Rain is great guy, very sweet and good to Tori. I just like my Motorcycle Man to be a little rougher. I think there is a happy medium, but this felt like this one was on the very SOFT side. I am not sure if I would have loved it more if I hadn't been expecting an MC book, but since that expectation was there it was hard to get into.

Tori runs a mobile coffee shack and gives out love advice. I felt like the love advice was always cheesy. "Love Advice is free with any order"

Rain was the MC President and owned the bar where Tori's mobile store was parked. Boy meets girl, girl think she isn't good enough, boy convinces girl she is..insert minimal drama and BAM - that is it in a nut shell.

I just needed more. I guess they all can't all be winners!
